With Bracken Man, Amouage makes a break with its oriental traditions and offers men something more in line with a Victorian herb garden than an Arabian souk or palace. Opening on a spicy, grassy note, Bracken immediately plunges us into a sunny, walled herb garden where clutches of lavender are spilling out onto the path. Fresh, upturned soil, trampled grass and spicy aromatics all combine for a wonderfully compelling scent both timeless and unique. We haven’t stopped raving about it since getting our hands on it, but now it’s time to share it with you. Fougere lovers, we know you have a lot to choose from these days, but set all that aside- your new signature scent has arrived.

My favorite Fougere fragrance. If you have smelled Houbagant’s Fougere Royal, Bracken will elicit some familiarity. However, Bracken cranks that DNA up to 11 while adding the typical twists that Amouage is known for.
A fresh spicy clove with accents of bergamot, lavender, and cypress kick Bracken off. That clove maintains while the fresher elements fade and the more aromatic and woody components begin to shine. Still fresh but paired with a nice warm woody heart. It finally transitions to a very clean musky patchouli with hints of the spicy and woody facets.
It is very unique and complex for a Fougere. It will set you apart, that is for sure. I get compliments on it very often. It has excellent performance and can be worn in all seasons. It can be a bit challenging for some – especially a novice – but if given time, I trust it will win over any fan of classic Fougere style fragrances.
