True to its name, Original Vetiver dramatically reinvents the traditional vetiver scent. Before Original Vetiver, only one part of the vetiver plant was used in a fragrance. The House of Creed infuses all three parts of the plant—the earthy root, the verdant leaves and the rich heart—to freshen the blend. The result is a scent reminiscent of lingering summers, invigorating and vivacious. It leaves an alluring air of freshness around any lucky enough to wear it.

The Creed Private Collection, which consists of five scents, was originally designed for five Hollywood legends during Hollywood's golden years. The collection also includes classic editions, which are fragrances that had long ago captured the attention and patronage of aristocrats all over the world.
Today Creed’s Private Collection perfumes are available to the public. Among its other fragrance lines, there is Creed Universal and Creed Private Collection Universal, which are unisex fragrances. For women a few scents to note are 2000 Fleurs as well as Fleurissimo, which was commissioned by Prince Rainer III for his new wife, Grace Kelly. One of the newest creations on the market is Irisia.
For men a mainstay is Original Vetiver and Silver Mountain Water, which was personally created by the current master perfumer and direct descendant, Olivier Henry Creed. Green Irish Tweed cologne is also known to be a favorite among Hollywood men.
All Creed fragrances are grouped into two categories: Millesime (more concentrated) and Eaux de Toilette (less concentrated). In upholding its past, the design house still guards its formulations with the utmost secrecy, uses the traditional method of infusion and refuses to use synthetic essences. The business remains in the control of the family.

Creed Original Vetiver smells like a bar of soap but there is a light hint of citrus and Vetiver, perfect for work or church any event when you cant risk more daring complex fragrances

This is a scent that I used to wear 15+ years ago when I was a younger man. I was, and still am a bit of a Creed fan-boy. There is only room in my main rotation for one Vetiver fragrance, and this still maintains that spot. I’ve tried to detrown it and have smelled some high-quality and well talked about vertiver scents. This one is just spring in a bottle. So many people talk about GIT as the King of Spring, but to me…..this is the true King of Spring.
To me, this smells like a lot of the green foliage that grows in the spring. Be it, grass, plants and other pleasant spring smells.
Many compare it to Muegler cologne, which is much cheaper, and they say the smell is very close. I have yet to try it, so I cannot speak to this. To me, this scene and I go way back so and I will always own it.

This fragrance is for the warmer months, especially spring. To my nose it’s soapy, like Irish Spring soap. The longevity is 8 plus hours. The compliments are low, but this scent isn’t bad.
