Guerlain deserves their reputation for quality and enduring fragrances. All of my life, my siblings and I gave my mother Shalimar on every gift occasion. She always asked for it. I remember the luxurious scent. Recently I tried Habit Rouge (for men), a well-executed masculine scent that is reminiscent of Shalimar. Today I applied two sprays of Habit Rouge. For a few days, I had sprays 4 to 6 times and it is so powerful that I reduced that to 2 sprays as of today. It is possible a “going out fancy” fragrance but I am enjoying it for every-day wear. Tomorrow I have a lunch date with friends and will definitely go “dressed in red” (Habit Rouge is Red Suit in English). It is soft (maybe what they call powdery). I cannot identify any particular notes and will not try. I prefer to identify this scent with seductive elegance and mystery. For the low price of a sample, this is well worth testing, especially for your “night out” scents.
