A mysterious addition to the Nasomatto line, Baraonda comes with few clues attached. The name means “chaos” or “uproar” in Italian, but the fragrance itself is subtle and almost transparent. The nose of this fragrance warns us that it will evoke “a raw taste sensation”….but what we taste is both comforting and refined.
Baraonda smells like the pleasures of fall, painted with a light hand. A tumbler of whiskey held up to catch the glow from an open fire. Delicate little glass bowls holding red berries, quince, and apples baked slowly until they fall apart. An old book, open on the lap, filling the air with the dry, papery scent of lignin. A hint of caramelized wood resin dancing around the edges of the room but never closing in. Baraonda takes the heavy oil paints of the boozy-gourmand genre and uses them to make a watercolor so exquisite that it will have you savoring its taste on your tongue long after you’ve worn it.

I would give this a 4.5/5 if I could. I generally don’t like many fall/winter scents. But Baronda is a very booze and unique scent that actually met the standards of both my significant other and I. She doesn’t like vanilla, which severely limits our options and this doesn’t give off a vanilla accord. When you first put this on, I get whiskey, but as it dries down it turns into a more intoxicating scent for me (even while smelling like whiskey yet). I’ve probably smelled over 100 winter/fall scents in earnest, and this probably ranks 2nd or third. So I would say to someone who is looking for a unique winter/fall scent — give this one a shot.

The perfect whiskey-booze scent with mesmerizing depth and a rich, almost honeycomb-like vibe.
