The head notes offer generous, spirited, explosive bergamot, with rose and geranium vying to add elegance. In the base note, a hint of cardamom mingles with sandalwood and guaiac, emphasizing all the nobility of wood. On the skin, the sudden turmoil is total thanks to the distinctive, evocative hint of caramelized coffee.

Have to say” many folks say after a hour it dries down to regular layton, absolutely wrong! Lol. This one in the opening starts off that way but after 15 to 20 minutes top’ you’re getting a dark patchouli, vetiver, leather, with maybe the layton DNA in the background mostly here and there in the air. But this one is mainly dark resins with a touch of sweetness, definitely a niche version of layton for sure.

If you love Layton but were hoping for something darker, more mysterious and definitely more masculine then this is the scent for you.
I agree with Frank’s assessment that this fragrance does NOT drydown to smell just like Layton. It is all about the dark woody vibe with the sweet freshness of Layton hovering in the background.
This scent is perfect for cool weather and especially for any date night or important occasion during the cooler months. Definitely for use in more formal occasions.
